Rod Barajas joined the Toronto Blue Jays a season later than expected.
After backing out of a deal with the Blue Jays last offseason, the catcher agreed to a $1.2 million, one-year contract Thursday with an option for 2009.
Barajas spent last season with Philadelphia, batting .230 with four homers and 10 RBIs in 48 games. He signed a $2.5 million, one-year contract with the Phillies in December 2006 - a month after walking away from a deal with Toronto and switching agents.
