Josh Towers won the final spot in the Blue Jays’ rotation, then beat a Cincinnati Reds’ split squad in Toronto’s spring training finale.
Towers allowed four hits over six innings in a 1-0 victory Saturday, striking out five and walking one. He retired his final 10 batters.

Hopkins Retires from Baseball
Luke Hopkins announced this spring his voluntary retirement from baseball. Hopkins never appeared in a minor league spring training game this spring and called it quits after just three months in professional baseball. Hopkins is the third player this season to announce his retirement.
