Kenny Rogers slammed the ball off the rubber and it rose over his head just before he walked off the mound following an awful start.
The Detroit Tigers will need him to bounce back in the playoffs.
Rogers was roughed up by the Toronto Blue Jays, who built a seven-run lead before holding off Detroit for an 8-6 victory Thursday, cutting the Tigers’ lead to a half-game in the AL Central.
The Minnesota Twins had a chance to pull into a tie at home Thursday night against Kansas City.
